Cardinal Clinches Series Win
SAN FRANCISCO – Senior Christian Robinson was a perfect 4 for 4 with two runs scored, a double, a home run and three RBIs to guide Stanford (6-1) to a 10-6 victory over San Francisco (4-7) on Saturday afternoon from USF's Benedetti Diamond.
Robinson, who matched his career high with the four hits, drew a walk in his first plate appearance of the day before singling in the third. His two-out solo home run in the fifth handed Stanford a 6-5 advantage and preceded an eighth-inning single that helped the Cardinal break a 6-6 tie. The native of Melbourne, Fla. provided insurance in the ninth, lacing a two-out, two-RBI double into right-center field to extend the Stanford lead to the eventual final of 10-6.

The home run was the second of the season for Robinson, and teamed with a three-run homer from sophomore Brock Jones, ran Stanford's team total to 10 through seven games.
Jones turned in a career day at the plate, finishing 2 for 5 with a double, the home run and five RBIs. The Fresno, Calif. native did all of his damage in his first two at bats – launching the round-tripper in the first before driving in two more with a double down the right field line in the second.
The five-RBI game was the first for a Cardinal since Andrew Daschbach drove in five against Cal Poly on May 14, 2019.
Sophomores Kody Huff and Adam Crampton also finished with two hits, as Crampton broke the 6-6 tie with the go-ahead single up the middle in the eighth inning.
The Cardinal used five pitchers in Saturday's victory, with freshman Joey Dixon getting the start. Dixon went just one inning before handing the ball over to Max Meier who carried the Cardinal through the next 3 1/3 while striking out three. Justin Moore contributed 1 2/3 scoreless innings before freshman Brandt Pancer took the ball through the seventh while striking out two.
Fifth-year senior Zach Grech inherited an 8-6 advantage in the eighth and allowed just one hit over the final two innings of work to secure his second save of the year. Pancer was credited with his first career victory to move to 1-0 on the season.
Stanford will look to secure a series sweep over the Dons on Sunday. First pitch from Benedetti Diamond is set for 1 p.m.
