Beavers To Face Tennessee In NCAA Tournament

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's basketball team will face Tennessee at 1:30 p.m. PT on Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be televised nationally on TNT.
 
Oregon State is the No. 12 seed and the Vols are the No. 5 seed.
 
The Beavers earned an automatic bid to the Big Dance by winning the Pac-12 Conference Tournament with wins over UCLA, Oregon and Colorado.
 
This marks the first time Oregon State has reached the NCAA Tournament since 2016 and just the second time since 1990. The Beavers' last NCAA Tournament win came in 1982 when they defeated Idaho, 60-42.
 
This is the 18th time Oregon State has reached the NCAA Tournament (12-20 record).
 
Oregon State is 3-1 all-time against Tennessee:

  • Dec. 30, 1964: Oregon State 48, Tennessee 27 (Far West Classic in Portland, Ore.)
  • Dec. 23, 1970: Tennessee 89, Oregon State 61 (at Knoxville)
  • Dec. 10, 1989: Oregon State 96, Tennessee 90 (OT) (at Knoxville)
  • Dec. 22, 1990: Oregon State 82, Tennessee 66 (at Corvallis)
