Statement from Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott

Mar 18, 2021

"The recent attacks on the Asian-American community, both in Atlanta and in our own communities, have been sobering reminders that the work we all must do to make our society a more just and inclusive one has only just begun. The divisiveness and xenophobia that fuel these targeted acts of violence are at the core of what we must combat. As representatives of institutions of higher learning, we shoulder the responsibility of creating safe, inclusive environments for our students, administrators and leaders, who will pave the way for the better future toward which we all look. Those members of the Asian-American community impacted by these horrific acts have not only our deepest sympathies, but our commitment to stand by them, learn from them and fight for them."
