The Sun Devil men's golf team will next play at The Goodwin held at Stanford Golf Course (par-70/6,742 yards) March 25-27, as the 52-year old event has 27 teams and 146 individuals.

SUN DEVIL HISTORY AT THE EVENT: Billy Mayfair won the 1987 title, with Todd Demsey and the team following it seven years later by both winning titles in 1984, and then Pat Moore won the 2005 title, as it was then called the U.S. Intercollegiate.

ABOUT THE EVENT: The event began in 1968 and has been held every year except for three - 1981, 2011 and 2020. The Cardinal will be joined by a strong field of 27 other teams: Arizona State, TCU, Nevada, Denver, Colorado, San Diego, Georgia Tech, Washington State, Cal Baptist, USC, SMU, Long Beach, FAU, Cal, Minnesota, BYU, St. Mary's, Pacific, UC Davis, Cal Poly, Santa Clara, Northwestern, Washington, Oregon, San Jose State, UCLA and Pepperdine.

PUIG PAC-12 GOLFER OF THE MONTH: Sun Devil David Puig earned the first Pac-12 Golfer of the Month honor as the Sun Devils get ready to travel to the Goodwin hosted by Stanford (March 25-27) this week. He posted a 69.75 scoring average in the first four tournaments of the season. Puig won the Southwestern Invitational at the end of January with a 10-under 206 (70-66-70) and then won the Amer Ari Intercollegiate with a 13-under 203 (67-68-68) as the Sun Devils also captured the team title. He finished in the top-10 in the first four events of the season, as the Sun Devils didn't play in the fall but are scheduled to play 12 tournaments in the spring.

Johnston -- who fired the best round of the first two rounds (7-under 64) in the 63-player field and the best round of his young career -- finished tied for fourth with a 6-under 207 (73-64-70). How good was Johnston's 64?
