Day One Leaders
STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford men's golf is the leader following the first day of the 2021 Goodwin at Stanford Golf Course after shooting a 5-under 275 on Thursday afternoon. The Cardinal is led by freshman Michael Thorbjornsen, whose 3-under 67 puts him in a tie for fifth.
All four of Stanford's scorers fired even-par rounds or better in the first round, paced by Thorbjornsen. Ethan Ng's 2-under 68 has him tied for eighth, while David Snyder and Karl Vilips are tied for 20th after their even-par 70s. Daulet Tuleubayev, playing as one of the Cardinal's six individuals, is also tied for 20th at even-par.
Stanford will tee off in the second grouping tomorrow morning, playing again with Arizona State, Pepperdine and SMU. The Cardinal individuals will tee off in the afternoon and play with Pacific, Cal Baptist and Minnesota.
