Gueant Leads Ducks on Day Two at Stanford

Mar 26, 2021

STANFORD, Calif. – Tom Gueant turned in the low round of the day for Oregon on a day in which it struggled to get much going, shooting 16 over to drop into 17th place after round two of The Goodwin at Stanford Golf Course. Gueant shot an even-par 70 and is currently 1 under for the tournament and in a tie for 15th.

How It Happened: Gueant struggled on the front nine, shooting a 3-over 38 with four bogeys and a birdie before turning it around on the back. He turned in a bogey-free homeward half with birdies at 12, 16 and 17, carding a 3-under 32 coming in to get back to even par.

The rest of the Ducks couldn't put much together scoring-wise. Yuki Moriyama turned in the next-best round with a 4-over 74, getting to 1 under at one point after 10 holes but stumbling down the stretch capped off by a triple bogey at the last. Nate Stember shot a 5-over 75 after a bumpy first nine where he shot 4 over before playing more steady with a 1 over on the inward half.

Craig Ronne was the final counting score of the day for the Ducks with a 7-over 77 while Jake Sollon shot an 8-over 78. The Ducks again had a rough time on the front nine, shooting 12 over, before playing steadier on the back nine with a combined 4 over total there.
