STANFORD, Calif. - Arthur Fery's clutch three-setter fueled Stanford past No. 23 Arizona State 4-3 on Friday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Fery outlasted Makey Rakotomalala 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (2) at the No. 2 spot to decide the match, producing his team-best seventh win of the season and first career clincher.

Stanford (5-3, 2-0 Pac-12) won its third in a row and remained unbeaten in conference play while posting its first win over a ranked opponent in four attempts.

The Cardinal captured the doubles point for a 1-0 lead, as Fery paired with Alexandre Rotsaert to win 6-4 on court three.

Arizona State (13-6, 2-3 Pac-12) moved in front 2-1 following a pair of straight-set victories inside the stadium.

Timothy Sah's 7-6 (3), 6-1 victory on court five evened the match at 2-2.

The teams alternated singles wins again to make it 3-3 before Fery stormed back from a 5-3 deficit in the third set to force a tiebreaker.

Stanford's six-match homestand resumes Saturday with an opportunity for another signature win, as No. 17 Arizona visits The Farm.
