No. 34 USC Women’s Tennis Hosts No. 27 California, No. 38 Stanford

THIS WEEK
This week, the No. 34 Women of return to Marks Stadium to welcome No. 27 California on Friday (Apr.9) at 1:30 p.m. PT, and take on No. 38 Stanford on Saturday (Apr. 10) at 12 p.m. PT.
 

RANKINGS
The Women of Troy improved five spots to No. 34 in the national rankings after their two wins against Arizona and Arizona State last weekend. After the new singles and doubles rankings were released, USC now boasts two ranked singles players: No. 69 Naomi Cheong and No. 123 Eryn Cayetano. The Trojans do not have any ranked doubles pairs. 

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
The California Golden Bears are 13-4 overall and 6-1 in Pac-12 Conference. Cal is ranked No. 27 as a team and boast one singles player: No. 41 Haley Giavara. In their last match against Pepperdine on Apr. 4, the Golden Bears lost to Pepperdine 4-3. USC holds a 41-39 all-time record over California dating back to their initial meeting in 1981. 

SCOUTING STANFORD
The Stanford Cardinal are 10-2 overall and 6-1 in Pac-12 Conference play. Stanford is ranked No. 38 in the nation led by their only ranked singles player, No. 48 Michaela Gordon. In their last match against Oregon on Apr. 4, the Cardinal lost 4-3 to the Ducks, giving the team its only conference loss. USC is 21-68 all-time against Stanford dating back to their initial meeting in 1977.
