LOS ANGELES – The No. 9/7 UCLA women's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 defeat of No. 38/26 Stanford Friday afternoon at Los Angeles Tennis Center. Dating back to 1986, UCLA had never posted a shutout of Stanford in which all matches were completed.

The Bruins (14-3, 8-0 in Pac-12 play) posted a pair of decisive doubles wins and never looked back, taking five first sets and a pair of three-set decisions. Vivian Wolff clinched the victory for a team-high third time this season. The Cardinal dropped to 10-3, 6-2 in Pac-12 play, with the loss.

Playing together for just the second time – and first since an unfinished match on March 27, 2019 – Elysia Bolton and Taylor Johnson turned in a 6-2 result against Sara Choy and Emma Higuchi on Court 3 to give UCLA the advantage. Then, on Court 1, No. 79 Abbey Forbes and Jada Hart returned to the win column with a 6-2 showing against Michaela Gordon and Niluka Madurawe. Forbes and Hart improved to 6-1, giving the Bruins the doubles point.

Annette Goulak ran her winning streak to seven matches and doubled the UCLA lead with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Higuchi on Court 6. Goulak is now 11-2, including a 5-1 mark on Court 6, on the year.

The only Bruin with a longer winning streak than Goulak is No. 11 Forbes, whose 6-2, 6-4 top-court triumph over No. 48 Michaela Gordon represents 11 in a row and improved her record against nationally-ranked opponents to 12-1. She is 14-1 overall.

Over the last five matches, Wolff has provided the deciding point on three occasions. The latest came with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Janice Shin on Court 4.

The remaining matches were finished, with No. 121 Hart the next off on Court 2. Her 6-4, 6-2 decision against Angelica Blake gave her five wins in a row. She is 6-0 in Pac-12 contests, second to Forbes' 7-0 mark.

Sasha Vagramov was the lone UCLA player to drop a first set, but she controlled the rest of the match. Her 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(9) victory on Court 5 made it 6-0.

That left it up to No. 113 Bolton to complete the sweep. Playing in her first singles match since Feb. 26, she did just that, outlasting Emily Arbuthnott for a 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 result on Court 3.

The Bruins return to action Saturday, when No. 27/22 California visits LATC. First serve is set for 12 p.m., PT.
