Pac-12 North Wraps Up For Sand Devils

PHOENIX – On the last day of the Pac-12 North Invitational on Sunday, Sun Devil Beach Volleyball split its duals, beating Washington 3-2 before falling to No. 2 USC 5-0.
 
Arizona State (6-9, 3-5 Pac-12) went 2-2 at the invitational the team hosted on Grand Canyon's campus. The No. 3 and 4 duos for ASU were the only pair to win in both duals this weekend. Lila Bordis and Samantha Plaster were on court four and got both of their match wins in straight sets. On court three, Cierra Flood and Sarah Waters won in three yesterday and in two on Sunday.

Game One: Arizona State 3, Washington 2
The day started with a win for the Sand Devils, their second in a row and their second against the Huskies (1-7, 0-5 Pac-12) this season. The No. 5 pair of Taryn Ames and Lauren Weintraub clinched the win, taking their match in straight sets.

Game Two: #2 USC 5, Arizona State 0
Taking on the No. 2 team in the nation, the Sun Devils came up short, dropping all five courts. USC (18-2) went undefeated at the Pac-12 North Invitational this weekend.

Arizona State will compete at the Boise State Beach Classic next weekend on April 16 and 17. ASU will play two duals against the host team Boise State and face off against Pac-12 foe Utah for the first time this season.
