Ducks Sweep Day on the Beach

SALEM, Ore. – Oregon picked a pair of wins over Corban and Portland on Tuesday, winning 4-1 in both matches to improve to 4-6 on the year. The Ducks' four wins are the second-most in a season in program history, behind only the 2019 team's five victories.  
 
How It Happened: The Ducks put up the first three points to clinch the match, with Savannah Siegrist and Delaney Hopen winning 21-15, 21-18 at the No. 4 spot, followed by Josie Cole and Anastasia Lima's thrilling 21-18, 20-22, 17-15 win at No. 2 and Bea Wetton and Ashley Schroeder's 21-13, 21-18 sweep at the No. 3 spot.
 
Carly Wallace and Madelyn Lafollette then delivered a 22-20, 21-12 at No. 1 to make it 4-0, before the Ducks dropped a three-setter a the five spot with Batia Rotshtein and Abby Plevin falling 21-18, 17-21, 17-15.
 
The Ducks picked up a dominant win at the No. 4 spot to put up the first point against Portland, with Plevin and Rotshtein winning 21-9, 21-9. After Wallace and Lafollette lost at No. 2, Oregon put up the final three points to finish off the 4-1 win.
 
Wetton and Schroeder gave the Ducks the lead, winning 21-10, 21-13 at the No. 3 spot before Siegrist and Hopen won in straight sets, 21-16, 21-13 to make it 3-1. Cole and Lima moved to the No. 1 spot for the second match of the day and picked up a 21-19, 21-10 victory to give the match its final score.
