USC's Leon D'Souza Tied For 18th After Western Intercollegiate Second Round

Senior Leon D'Souza carded a 1-over 73 to pace the USC men's golf team during the second round of the 74th Annual Western Intercollegiate on Tuesday (April 13) at the Pasatiempo G.C. in Santa Cruz, Calif.

USC, in its final regular season event, combined for a 22-over 372 in the six-play, five-count format and are now eighth in the 13-team field at 35-over 735. Pepperdine leads at 2-over 702.

The Trojans, despite finding some momentum during the second-round turn, were unable to make headway up the leaderboard today.

D'Souza is tied for 18th at 3-over 143 (72-71). He was eyeing the top 10 while 2-under through 12, but dropped back with three late bogeys.

Sophomore Tyler Guo had to fight back from a 5-over start through six holes and finished his final 12 holes at 1-under. He's tied for 44th at 7-over 147 (73-74) with junior Cameron Henry (71-76).

Freshman Shane Ffrench is tied for 51st at 8-over 148 (72-76), senior Kaito Onishi is tied for 62nd at 10-over 150 (75-75) and senior Kyle Suppa is 85th at 20-over 160 (80-80).
