SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- No. 1 UCLA (24-2) saw its 21-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday as second-ranked USC (22-2) outlasted the Bruins 3-2 in both team's final game of the Center of Effort Challenge at Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex. With the loss, the Bruins fall to 11-14 all-time against the Trojans.

The Trojans took a 1-0 lead on court five when Audrey and Nicole Nourse defeated Rileigh Powers and Jaden Whitmarsh in straight sets 21-18, 21-14.

USC went up 2-0 on court four as Joy Dennis and Delaynie Maple beat UCLA's new duo of Jacqueline Quade and Cami Sanchez 21-16, 21-18.

The Bruins got on the board when court three's new UCLA duo of Abby Van Winkle and Megan Muret took down Hailey Harward and Haley Hallgren in straight sets 21-16, 21-18.

But the Trojans sealed the win on court two as Julia Scoles and Sammy Slater won a tight battle with another new Bruin pair, Devon Newberry and Lea Monkhouse 23-21, 21-18.

The Bruins scored their final point in stunning fashion on court one as Savvy Simo and Lexy Denaburg won an epic first set and got off to a big lead and held on to win the second set in a 33-31, 21-16 two-set victory over USC's Megan Kraft and Olympian Tina Graudina.

UCLA will conclude the regular season on Thursday, April 22 on "Senior Day" when they host USC at 3:00 p.m. PDT.
