May, Fleck Named AVCA All-Americans

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior Mac May and junior Zoe Fleck have been named AVCA All-Americans, as announced on Wednesday. May received Second Team All-American honors, while Fleck earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades.

May was named a Second Team All-American for the second year in a row, the 14th Bruin to earn multiple A-A plaudits, while Fleck picked up her first All-American award.

Additionally, May and Fleck were each named Volleyball Magazine Third-Team All-Americans.

May, who was named First Team AVCA All-Region and All-Pac-12 Conference, led the Bruins with 4.33 kills and 4.98 points per set, ranking second in the Pac-12 in both categories and Top 30 nationally. She had double figures in kills in 21 of 22 contests, reaching the 20-mark on four occasions, with a season-best 25 on March 21 against USC. May had four double-doubles, setting a season high with 19 digs in a win over Washington on Feb. 12. The senior was also first with 30 service aces and fifth in the conference in aces per set. May had an ace in 13 of 22 matches, including multiples on nine occasions, with season highs of four versus Washington and Rider (April 14). May was also second on the team with 13 block solos.

Fleck, the Pac-12 Libero of the Year, as well as an AVCA All-Region and All-Pac-12 First Team selection, led the Bruins and the conference with 4.39 digs per set, reaching double figures in digs in all 22 matches this season. She surpassed 20 digs on five occasions, with a season-best 25 in a win against Arizona on Feb. 26. Fleck was also second on the team with 19 service aces, recording at least one in 14 of 22 contests. She had a season-best four against Oregon State in the regular-season finale on March 28. Fleck, who notched the first double-double of her career with 22 digs and 10 assists at Oregon on Jan. 29, was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on March 2 after helping the Bruins to a series sweep of Arizona.
