Wildcats Set For Pac-12 Championships at Stanford

Apr 22, 2021

STANFORD, Calif. – Postseason competition in 2021 begins on Friday, April 23 for the No. 22 Arizona Women's Golf program with the Pac-12 Championships. After the cancellation of the 2020 Pac-12 Championships due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, this will mark the first time the Cardinal have hosted the conference championships on their home course since 2009. The Wildcats have posted a pair of top-three finishes in their five regular season team competitions this season.

"We've been practicing and playing events for months to be at our best for this time of the year," said head coach Laura Ianello. "We have seen wins and strong finishes at Pac-12's throughout recent years, and our team is ready to compete and shoot low scores as we begin postseason play."

Arizona last won the Pac-12 Championship in 2015 when it topped Oregon by five strokes in Boulder, Colorado. That victory is one of two championships wins by the Wildcats since 2010, which also includes a total of seven top-three finishes.

Sophomore Therese Warner led all Wildcats in their last event, the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, with a top-10 finish at even par. She is one of four Wildcats to finish in the top 10 in an event in this condensed and shortened season.

Warner will be joined by Yu-Sang Hou, Vivian Hou, Ya Chun Chang and Gile Bite Starkute in head coach Laura Ianello's lineup for the weekend. The Stanford Golf Course is a 6,269-yard, par 71 course.
