Cal Closes Regular Season Against No. 12/13 Stanford Saturday

Nine Cal seniors will be honored prior to their final regular-season game Saturday at California Memorial Stadium.

SENIOR DAY
— Cal will honor its nine seniors (Ella Annest, LizaBanks Campagna, Sophia Cerino, Marisa Kuberra, Kamryn Lanier, Joanna Levin, Marina Smith, Ashley Ward and Nikki Zaccaro) as well as all Stanford seniors in a pre-game ceremony prior to the final regular-season contest of their careers before Saturday's game between the Golden Bears and Cardinal 

RECORDS WITHIN REACH FOR ANNEST AND CAMPAGNA
— Ella Annest played in her 73rd game at Cal in her most recent outing at UC Davis on Thursday to equal a career school record games played she currently shares with Laura Cavallo (2004-07), Hilary Lynch (2004-07) and Leanna Zilioli (2003-06)
— LizaBanks Campagna is three draw controls the from becoming Cal's all-time outright leader in both career and single-season draw controls with current totals of 172 for her career and 74 in 2021, which both are two shy from current school records of 174 for a career by Megan Tackas (2010-13) and 76 in a single season by Elizabeth Koehler (2018) 

CAL-STANFORD HISTORY
— Cal faces its Pac-12 and Bay Area rival for the second time during the 2021 season with the Cardinal a 21-4 winner the first time the teams met at Stanford on March 26 
— The teams did not meet during the 2020 campaign shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic to mark the first time they did not play each other since 2006 and 2007
— Stanford holds a 31-2 lead in the all-time series and has won 28 straight
— Cal won the first time the teams played by a 9-7 score on Feb. 20, 1999, and then was victorious again the next season on April 22, 2020, by an 8-7 count, with both victories in Berkeley, where Cal is 2-11 all-time in the series and has dropped 11 straight

— Cal has a 199-190 advantage in draw controls this season and has won the draw control battle in nine of its first 15 games vs. San Diego State (14-12), at Fresno State (17-11), vs. Arizona State (20-14), at Oregon (13-12), at Colorado (11-10), vs. Fresno State (16-6), at San DIego State (15-8), vs. Oregon (13-6) and vs. Colorado (15-9), while tying at Arizona State (10-10) 

CAMPAGNA RANKED AMONG PAC-12 AND NCAA LEADERS
— LizaBanks Campagna leads the Pac-12 in caused turnovers (29) while she is second in ground balls (40) and fourth in draw controls (74)
— Campagna is also tied for 28th nationally in per-game leaders in caused turnovers (1.80)

2021 DEDICATION GAMES
— Cal has had game dedications this year for social justice (vs. USC, vs. Arizona State), the HEADstrong Foundation (at Oregon, at Stanford, vs. Fresno State), Bears United (at San Diego State, vs. Oregon) and the One Love Foundation (vs. Colorado, at USC)        

RECENT ACTION: CAL DROPS SEVENTH STRAIGHT WITH 14-4 LOSS AT UC DAVIS THURSDAY 
— UC Davis led wire-to-wire in a 14-4 victory over Cal on Thursday that extended Cal's losing streak to seven in a row
— Kennedy Goss scored her first career goal and Hanna Deringer had her first career assist in Thursday's loss to UC Davis
— The first five losses on the seven-game streak came by a combined total of seven goals at UC Davis (12-10), at San Diego State (11-10), vs. Oregon (9-8), vs. Colorado (12-10) and at USC (12-11, OT)

— The Pac-12 Championship will be hosted by Stanford May 5-8
— The Pac-12 Championship began in 2018 and Cal is 1-2 all-time in the two events held in 2018 and '19 with the Golden Bears lone victory coming over Arizona State in the quarterfinals of the 2019 event
— Cal lost to Oregon in the 2018 quarterfinals at Colorado and USC in the 2019 semifinals at Oregon
— There was no Pac-12 Championship played in 2020 due to COVID-19
