STANFORD, Calif. - No. 2 Stanford wrapped its regular season in style, cruising to a 16-4 victory at home over No. 16 San Jose State on Sunday afternoon.

No. 2 Stanford 16 - No. 16 San Jose State 4

Similar to Saturday, the Cardinal wasted no time in taking the lead over the Spartans, earning a 2-0 advantage under halfway through the first quarter. San Jose State responded though, answering with two straight goals of its own to knot the score at 2-2.

Stanford answered with four straight goals, each from a different player, eventually pushing its run to 6-1 to end the half with an 8-3 advantage.

Strong defense and efficiency in transition was again the name of the game for the Cardinal, as Stanford pushed the Spartans far away from the cage on its attacking side, oftentimes earning a steal and runout the other way. The Cardinal was able to insert three different goalies in the game and was an even .500 in its shot percentage.

Next up for Stanford is the MPSF Tournament in Tempe, Ariz. The Cardinal earned the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed Indiana on Friday, April 30 at 11:30 a.m.
