Perez Named UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – Briana Perez from UCLA Softball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for April 20 – April 26.
 
Perez had hits in all four games last week against No. 3 Washington, as No. 2 UCLA won three of four in the series. On Friday, she got the Bruins on the board with a three-run homer in the third inning, as the Bruins won 6-1. She notched a single, a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in game one on Saturday, adding a single, a run and a steal in a game two victory. She also took over the team home run lead with her ninth in Sunday's win, a solo shot.

It's the first-career Student-Athlete of the Week award for Perez. UCLA Softball has secured the last two awards, as Rachel Garcia picked up weekly honors on April 20.
