Arizona Advances in Winner's Bracket After 3-0 over Arizona State
Los Angeles, Calif. -- The third seeded Arizona Wildcats will advance in the Pac-12 Championship Tournament after their 3-0 victory over the sixth seed Arizona State Sun Devils. In a two-flight match, the Wildcats were able to complete the win in three consecutive points from courts one, two and four. The Cats advance in the winner's bracket to take on number two seeded UCLA in the double-elimination tournament on Friday April 30 at 11:30 a.m. MST.
Things got off to a quick start in Los Angeles with the 2's and 4's beginning the two-flight match. Dana Parker and Mady Noble got to work fast earning Arizona's first point on court four. They were the only pair to finish in two sets going, 21-9, 22-20.

The pairs on court two were battling it out in a first set that took over 40 minutes. Brooke Burling and Sarah Blacker took an early lead but were met in the middle by the Sun Devils. The last 10 points of set one were made up of a back and forth duel with the Sun Devils eventually securing the win. Blacker and Burling didn't let it defeat them as they came back hard in the second and third, not letting the Devils past 15 points. They ended picking up Arizona's second point.
Alana Rennie and Alex Parkhurst determined the duel in a three set match on court one. After falling in a close 22-20 first set they rallied and took the final two. They dominated the back half of the match barely allowing the devils to enter double digits. They finished with set scores of 20-22, 21-13, 15-11 and won Arizona their third and final point of the duel, advancing them into the next round of championship play.
