No. 2 UCLA Sweeps No. 3 Arizona, 3-0

LOS ANGELES -- No. 2 UCLA (26-3) defeated No. 3 Arizona (22-5) on Friday afternoon in the 2021 Pac-12 Championship at Mapes Beach. With the win, the Bruins improve to 8-2 all-time against the Wildcats.

The Bruins took a 1-0 lead on court three when when Abby Van Winkle and Lindsey Sparks defeated Arizona's Natalie Anselmo and Carly Lowry 21-11, 21-15.

UCLA went up 2-0 on court five as Rileigh Powers and Jaden Whitmarsh defeated the Wildcat duo of Olivia Hallaran and Hope Shannon 21-16, 21-19.

The Bruins clinched the dual win on court one where Savvy Simo and Lexy Denaburg defeated Alana Rennie and Alex Parkhurst 21-16, 21-17.

With the 3-0 win, the other two courts were truncated, which left court two and court four unable to finish. UCLA's Lea Monkhouse and Devon Newberry trailed Arizona's Sarah Blacker and Brooke Burling, 17-21, 6-10 on court two. The Bruins' Megan Muret and Jacqueline Quade led the Wildcats' Dana Parker and Mady Noble, 21-18, 0-3 on court four.

UCLA will now face No. 1 USC on Saturday, May 1 at 9:00 a.m. PDT at Mapes Beach. While no fans or family members will be permitted to attend the Championship, all duals will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Networks.
