Bruins Complete First Day at NCAA Championships

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Bruins sit in a tie for 15th after one round of the NCAA Championship at the Grayhawk Golf Club, shooting a 302 (+14) on Friday.

Sophomore Emma Spitz is tied for fifth following an even-par 72. She made back-to-back-to-back birdies on the par-4 12th, par-3 13th and par-4 14th, adding another birdie on the par-4 first, two bogeys and a double.

Sophomore Annabel Wilson was the next-best Bruin, shooting a 2-over 74 to put her in a tie for 38th. She posted birdies on the par-5 fourth and seventh holes and four bogeys. Junior Simar Singh shot a 5-over 77 (T-87), making a birdie on the par-3 13th and six bogeys. Sophomore Yuki Yoshihara recorded a birdie on the par-4 14th, six bogeys and a double in a 7-over 79 (T-105). Sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri signed for an incorrect score, nullifying a 6-over 78.

The Bruins begin round two on Saturday at 12:36 p.m. off the first tee in the order of Paltrinieri, Yoshihara, Singh, Wilson and Spitz. Live scoring will be available here.
