Supers Begin Friday

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford (36-15) will make its second Super Regional appearance in as many tournaments this week, traveling to No. 8 seed Texas Tech (39-15) for a best-of-three series beginning Friday at noon PT.

Following Friday's opener, the two teams will once again meet at noon Saturday, with an 'if-necessary' game slated for Sunday at noon. Friday and Saturday's contests will air live on ESPNU, while Sunday's potential finale will show on ESPN2/ESPNU.

Texas Tech swept its way into the Super Regional round over the weekend, capped by an 8-2 victory over UCLA on Sunday. The Red Raiders will host a Super Regional for the fifth time in program history and third consecutive season.

Stanford captured an 11-8 victory over UC Irvine in a winner-take-all finale on Monday night to earn its 12th Super Regional appearance overall. The Cardinal opened the Stanford Regional with a 9-1 victory over North Dakota State on Friday before defeating UC Irvine 12-4 on Saturday to advance to the Regional Final. UC Irvine forced the Monday deciding game by way of an 8-4 victory on Sunday.
