USC Adds Purdue Grad Transfer Trent Pellini To Swim Roster

Jun 9, 2021

USC Men's Swimming will welcome Purdue All-American Grad Transfer Trent Pellini to campus this fall for the upcoming 2021-2022 swim season.

Pellini, who was admitted into USC's Marshall School of Business, will pursue a master's degree in finance while using his final year of NCAA eligibility to swim for the Trojans.

"We are thrilled that Trent has chosen USC to pursue the next chapter in his student athlete career.  I had the pleasure of watching Trent compete as an athlete and know that he is a fierce competitor and highly regarded amongst his competitors and peers," said USC Head Coach Jeremy Kipp.  "I have great respect for what Trent's coach Dan Ross and the Boilermakers represent in college athletics and I can't wait to see what Trent can do with the Trojans."

This year, Pellini was an NCAA Championships qualifier in the 100y breast, 200y IM (1:44.00) and 400 free relay. At NCAA's, he finished 15th in the 100y breast (52.08) and helped the Boilermaker's to a 15th place finish in the 400y free relay.

As a senior at Purdue, Pellini became Purdue's first male swimmer to be a multi-year All-American in an individual event since 2014 and 2015, claiming All-American honors in the 100y breast for the second time in his career.

In 2020, Pellini registered career bests in the 50y free (20.00) and 200y breast (1:53.51) at the Purdue Invitational.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Trent has been a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and was a CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-American as a freshman.

With a versatile skill set, and experience competing at NCAA's, Pellini will no doubt be a major contributor for the Trojans this upcoming season.
