Men's Tennis Lands Four on ITA Scholar-Athlete Team

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah men's tennis landed four student-athletes to the ITA Scholar-Athlete team on Monday morning, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Monday morning. It is the fourth year in a row that the program has had at least four Utes earn an individual honor.

Russell Benkaim, Luis Flores, Benjamin Heck and Slava Shainyan earned the individual honor for the 2020-21 academic year to represent the Utes. Leading the way were Flores and Shainyan after earning their fifth selection as an ITA Scholar-Athlete. Benkaim became a two-time honoree, while Heck received his first honor.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of a 3.5 or above for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
