Harper, Meoño Named First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. – Jessie Harper and Janelle Meoño were named CoSIDA first team Academic All-Americans, the association announced on Thursday. This marks Meoño's first and Harper's second career Academic All-America honor. In 2020, Harper was named second team Academic All-America.
 
Harper and Meoño are first duo to be named first team Academic All-America in the same year in Arizona softball history.
 
Harper, who graduated with her degree in sociology in 2020, is now a graduate student working on her master's in educational leadership and has a 3.74 GPA. She closed out her historic career as a three-time NCFA All-American, two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, four-time All-Pac-12 and NFCA All-West Region, the 2021 Pac-12 Scholar Athlete, a member of the Pac-12 Spring Academic honor roll, and is first in Arizona history and second in NCAA history in home runs.
 
Meoño, a communications major with a 3.84 GPA, is receiving her first Academic All-America honor. Meoño was named Academic All-District and earned a spot on the Pac-12 Spring Academic honor roll this year. Following a breakout freshman season, she enters her redshirt sophomore year as the reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 Batting Champion.
