TOKYO – Using a blistering final round of 61, former Arizona Wildcat Rory Sabbatini earned the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Sabbatini became Arizona's first-ever golf letterwinner to earn an Olympic medal in school history.
His goal was to inspire the next generation of Slovakian golfers. ????

The 61 carded by the former Wildcat was his new professional low, besting his three rounds of 62 while on the PGA Tour. His final round 61 also set an Olympic record.
Sabbatini qualified for the Olympics as a citizen of Slovakia where he earned citizenship in 2018 as his wife was already a Slovakian citizen.

After competing for Arizona Men's Golf in the late 1990's, Sabbatini first turned pro in 1998b and has won six PGA Tour events with an impressive 78 top-10 finishes. His top finish in 2021 was at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines where he finished in a tie for 10th.
