Team USA Falls To Spain In Quarterfinals

Luca Cupido scored a goal but the United States men's water polo team fell to Spain 12-8 on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Cupido, a 2018 Cal alum who was named National Player of the Year as a senior, brought the Americans to within 8-7 with 5:06 to play. But Team USA couldn't get any closer and fell into the classification bracket.
Fellow Cal alum Johnny Hooper attempted two shots but didn't score.
The Americans will play Italy in the 5th-8th semifinals on Friday.
