Aug 9, 2021

TEMPE - Sun Devil Wrestling is almost back! The defending Pac-12 champions are set to host six programs at Desert Financial Arena, three of which finished top-20 last year, along with the Pac-12 Championships in March. Fans will happily be welcomed back to the arena. Note that the current schedule is just the match weekends, the full schedule with specific matchdays will be released at a later date.

2021-22 Schedule
Season tickets now available

"I think this is the best home schedule we've had in a long time. Period," head coach Zeke Jones said. "Having the opportunity to have six duals at home before hosting the Pac-12 Championships is something we don't have very often. Virtually all of these programs are in the top-20 in the country and I think our guys will be well tested this season. It'll be a great opportunity for them to compete against the country's best."

ASU kicks off the year with an intrasquad scrimmage the weekend of Nov. 5 before officially opening the doors for the home portion of the season the weekend of Nov. 19 against Big 12 co-champions Oklahoma.

It'll then be quiet at home until the weekend of Jan. 7 when Iowa State comes to town to kick off the new year with the first of three matches in January. Then program rival Oregon State comes to DFA the weekend of Jan. 28.

February opens with Stanford coming to town the weekend of Feb. 4, followed by Missouri the weekend of Feb.11 and Lehigh closing out the home schedule the weekend of Feb. 18. The Pac-12 Championships are set for March 5 at Desert Financial Arena.

The Sun Devils return four-time Pac-12 champion Anthony Valencia (165) along with fellow 2021 champions Brandon Courtney (125) -  who was also the 2021 NCAA 125 runner-up - Jacori Teemer (157), and Cohlton Schultz (HWT).

Joining the fold this season is the third Valencia brother Cael. The youngest Valencia enters ranked No. 5 in his class and No. 4 at 160 lbs. He'll be joined by three-time California State champion, 2018 Cadet World slider medalist, and Junior Team USA member Richie Figueroa. Other top-100 2021 recruits coming to Tempe include Pennsylvania state champion Carter Dibert, two-time California state champion Max Wilner, and two-time Arizona state champion Ramon "Mykey" Ramos.

With eight incoming wrestlers, InterMat Wrestling ranked the 2021 Sun Devil wrestling recruiting class at No. 2. You won't want to miss a second of the action this season.
