Twenty Former USC Athletes Named Candidates for CSCAA’s Greatest Swimmers and Divers List

20 USC swimming & diving alumni were announced Monday as candidates for the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) centennial list of 100 Greatest Swimmers & Divers.

Eight women and 12 men from USC were among the 973 candidates selected from 2,805 nominees spanning more than 100 years of swimming.

The list of candidates includes Trojan greats Charles Bittick, Joe Bottom, Bill Criag, Brian Earley, Stephen Furniss, Larsen Jensen, John Naber, Mickey Riley, Murray Rose, Roy Saari, Erik Vendt and David Wharton. Representing the Women of Troy on the list of finalists -  Haley Anderson, Lindsay Benko, Louise Hansson, Blythe Hartley, Katinka Hosszu, Haley Ishimatsu, Kristine Quance and Rebecca Soni. 
 
The 20 Trojans will now go to a Blue Ribbon Panel of voters who will be charged with narrowing the selections to 100 men and 100 women. View the full list of candidates on CSCAA.org. 
 
In addition to naming the 100 Greatest Swimmers & Divers, the association will also name 100 Great and Pioneering Coaches, 100 Alumni of Impact, and Centennial MVP's for every team. Nominations for these awards are still being accepted at https://www.cscaa.org/centennial.
