Oregon State Drops Match to Boise State

BOISE, Idaho – Oregon State volleyball dropped the final match of the Boise State Classic to host, Boise State, in three sets (12-25, 17-25, 15-25). The Beavers drop to 2-8 on the season, while the Broncos improve to 11-1.
 
The Beavers were led offensively by freshman Mychael Vernon who finished the match with eight. Junior Lindsey Schell and freshman Vivian Light followed with six each. Izzi Szulczewski finished the match with 19 assists and Ashlyn Beaver contributed four. Kateryna Tkachenko and Ryan White led OSU with seven and six digs, respectively.
 
Boise State was led by Lauren Ohlinger, who finished with 10 kills off 17 total attacks. As a team, the Broncos finished with 42 total attacks and hit .474.
 
Match Notes:

  • Vernon hit .467 committing only one error off 15 total attacks.
  • Freshman Iris Coba was the lone Beaver with an ace.
  • Madison Kelly picked up a solo block to bring her season total to 16.0.
  • After her performance on the weekend, Szulczewski made the Boise State Classic All-Tournament team.

 
UP NEXT:
The Beavers are back in action on Wednesday against Oregon in Eugene for the first Rivalry Series match of 2021 and to open Pac-12 play.
