Men's Golf Finishes Whirlwind First Week of 2021 Season on Strong Note
Last Sunday night, the Sun Devil men's golf team was sitting in Texas getting ready for its first round of the season.
One week, around 3,000 round trip miles and six rounds of golf later, the Sun Devils can look back and say it was a solid first week.
Coach Matt Thurmond's squad wrapped up play in the highly competitive Olympia Field Country Club's Fighting Illini Invitational Sunday and finished second, just three shots back of North Carolina and six shots clear of third place Oklahoma State.
Individually, ASU received two ties for second as both David Puig (70-66-72) and Cameron Sisk (71-69-68) finished at 2-under 208. Mason Andersen posted a 5-over 215 (71-70-73).
