Puk Stubbe Named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona freshman opposite Puk Stubbe has been named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
 
Stubbe had an impressive weekend for Arizona, averaging 2.89 kills/set and hitting .396 on 26 kills. During the weekend, Stubbe hit .333 or above in all three of Arizona's straight-set wins at the Wildcat Classic. The freshman from Gouda, Netherlands led the Wildcats with a .450 hitting percentage on ten kills in their win over UC Riverside. Stubbe also tallied six digs and one block in the Wildcat's sweep of San Diego State.
 
This season, Stubbe is third on the team with 87 kills and 2.07 kills/set. She is averaging 0.38 blocks and 1.43 digs per set.
 
Her honor is the first weekly conference award for Arizona this season.
 
Stubbe and the Wildcats will open conference play at Arizona State on Thursday at 6 p.m. MST and return home on Sunday to host Oregon State at 12 p.m. MST in McKale Center. Both matches this weekend will be aired on Pac-12 Networks.
