Bruins Set to Tee Off at Blessings Collegiate Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The UCLA women's golf team begins the first round of the second annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational held at the Blessings Golf Club on Monday, Oct. 4. The three-day event ending on Oct. 6 will play host to both women's and men's collegiate golf teams, each coming from the Power 5 conferences.

UCLA's starting fivesome includes freshmen Alessia Nobilio and Zoe Antoinette Campos, redshirt sophomore Ty Akabane, junior Emma Spitz and freshman Caroline Canales.
 
Joining the Bruins in the 10-school field are the men's and women's teams from Arizona, Arkansas, Houston, Illinois, Louisville, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas Tech.
 
The Bruins last played at the Blessings Golf Club, one of the most difficult courses in the country, at the 2019 NCAA Championship in which UCLA finished 20th (+65, 941). No team finished lower than 7-over par in the three rounds.
 
Recapping The Molly Collegiate Invitational
UCLA finished second in a field of 14 (+21, 885) while Nobilio and Campos recorded the first Top 10 finishes of their careers, placing fifth (+3, 219) and tied for eighth (+5, 221), respectively. Bruins and Campos held first-place positions after the first two rounds on day one at The Bayonet before Stanford shot a 6-under 282 in the final round.
 
Campos opened round one with a 2-under 72 featuring four birdies and a back nine score of 33. Nobilio recorded a pair of 73s in the first rounds of her collegiate career. Junior Annabel Wilson finished her first tournament of the season on a high note, shooting a 1-under 71 to lead the Bruins in round three.
