Oregon State Drops Match at No. 24 Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – Oregon State volleyball dropped a three-set match (16-25, 22-25, 19-25) to No. 24 Colorado in Boulder. With the loss, Oregon State falls to 2-12 overall and 0-4 in Pac-12 play, as Colorado improves to 11-2 overall and 2-2 in the Pac-12. This match marked the 14-straight road match the Beavers have had to open the 2021 season.
 
Senior Maddie Goings led the Beavers offensively with 14 kills off 34 attacks. She also added five digs, one ace and one block assist. Kateryna Tkachenko followed with eight kills and one ace of her own. Freshman Ashlyn Beaver made her fourth appearance of the 2021 season and led the team with 22 assists while also picking up her first collegiate kill. Senior Grace Massey finished with 13 digs to bring her career total to 1,943.
 
Colorado was led by Maya Tabron, who finished with 13 kills and nine digs. Alexia Kuehl followed with seven kills and five blocks. As a team, CU hit .322 with 39 kills.
 
Match Notes

  • Oregon State finished with more aces than Colorado, as four Beavers tallied one compared to only three from the Buffaloes.
  • Senior Lindsey Schell led Oregon State with three total blocks, including a solo block.
  • Freshman Iris Coba finished with a career-high six digs.

UP NEXT
Oregon State is will open the home slate of the 2021 season on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. on the Pac-12 Networks against Stanford. This marks the first time OSU will play a home volleyball match in front of fans since the 2019 season.
