Men’s Tennis Hosts the Utah Invitational

Oct 6, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Men's Tennis program will welcome five mountain-region schools this weekend to the George S. Eccles Tennis Center for the Utah Invitational.

Matches will begin on Thursday and will continue until Sunday. Play begins at 9 a.m. each day.

This will be the first Utah Invitational since the 2019 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which cut the fall 2020 season completely for many teams. The tournament boasts players from Utah, Utah State, Weber State, Idaho State, Montana, and Montana State.

After kicking off the fall season with a first-place title at the ITA Regionals and several top finishes at the Idaho State Invitational, the Utes come home to host their tournament to continue the season. This will be the only tournament hosted by Utah during the fall season and brings together many players who competed in the regional championships. Franco Capalbo won the ITA Mountain Regional and qualified for the ITA National Fall Invitational, while Mathias Gavelin came out and won the Idaho State Invitationals single draw. Who will the next winner be of a draw for the Utes this fall?

Match results will be updated on UtahUtes.com at the end of each day.
