ROLAND, Ark. – Arizona Men's Golf carried some of its momentum from its monster second round at the Stephens Cup on Monday to finish stroke play in a tie for third place at 16-over par. The Wildcats tied with Florida State and finished four strokes behind Arkansas for second place. Junior Chase Sienkiewicz carded Arizona's low round on Tuesday with a 1-under round of 71 to finish stroke play in a tie for eighth place at 5-over.
"We did not make as many quality golf shots on the front nine today as we did after the turn," said head coach Jim Anderson. "We moved down on the leaderboards as a team because of that, but I am happy to see us have three players finish in the top ten individually. We look forward to tomorrow's round, which will be our team's first match play action since our first event of last season."
Christian Banke, who fired a round of 65 on Monday afternoon, finished stroke play in a tie for fifth place with teammate Aidric Chan at 3-over par.

Notre Dame won the stroke play competition by 20 strokes as the Cats finished with the most birdies, 54, among the field. Sienkiewicz finished tied with Florida State's Daniel Bradbury in par-4 scoring at 1-over for the tournament.
Wednesday's third and final day of action will be match play, following a format similar to the NCAA Championships. Arizona will face Florida State as Golf Channel will carry the final round on its national broadcast, starting at 1 p.m. (MST).
