Quarterfinals Ahead For Three USC Men’s Tennis Doubles Duos, Singles Players at ITA Southwest Regionals.

MALIBU, CALIF. — USC men's tennis has pushed three doubles pairs and three singles players through to the quarterfinal round at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships after a successful day in Malibu today. The Trojans have three doubles teams in action at the event, and all three were victorious again today.

Headlining the doubles push to the quarterfinals today was USC's Paul Barretto and Ryder Jackson, who upset the top seeds with a resounding 8-2 win to advance. No. 3 seeded Stefan Dostanic and Samuel Rubell, meanwhile, pulled out a tense  8-7 (2) win to move on, while No. 2 seeded Bradley Frye and Peter Makk cruised to an 8-2 win in their Round of 16 match. Doubles quarterfinal matches are due to start up at 9 a.m. tomorrow (Oct. 24).

A busy singles day saw four Trojans net wins in the morning's Round of 32. In the Round of 16, it was USC newcomer Samuel Rubell with the most notable victory, beating the top seed in straight sets. Rubell and ranked teammates Bradley Frye and Stefan Dostanic are now into tomorrow's quarterfinals, which are scheduled for 11 a.m.
