USC Women's Golf Great Lizette Salas Named To WGCA Players Hall of Fame Class of 2021

USC great Lizette Salas, a four-time All-American and two-time Pac-10 Player of the Year who helped the Trojans win the 2008 NCAA Championship and who has become one of the LPGA Tour's top players, is one of three women named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association Player Hall of Fame Class of 2021, the WGCA announced Thursday (Oct. 28).

Salas joins Duke's Jenny Chuasiriporn and Ohio State's Kristen White in the latest WGCA Class of 2021 and will be inducted on Dec. 5 at the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas.

Salas is the second Trojan to be inducted into the WGCA's Players Hall of Fame, joining 2014 inductee Mikaela Parmlid.

Salas graduated from USC in 2011 with a degree in sociology and was a two-time first-team All-American, earning the honor for the second time as a senior. She was a 2011 Honda Sports Award finalist, was named Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2009 and 2011 and was selected All-Pac-10 first team three times. Her 14 career rounds in the 60s are the sixth most in USC history while her 72.53 career stroke average is seventh.

Salas, a five-time Solheim Cup participant (2013-15-17-19-21), has been one of the most consistent LPGA Tour members since turning pro in 2011 with over $6.6 million in career earnings and 34 career top 10s with one win. She broke the $1 million barrier in season earnings in 2021 and 2019.

She has posted a a pair of second-place finishes at majors in 2021 at the AIG Women's Open in August and at KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June with two other top 6 results. That followed a 2019 season that saw another second at the AIG Women's Open and a tie for fifth at the KPMG.
