USC Men's Volleyball To Play In Long Beach State Tournament On Saturday

Oct 29, 2021

The USC men's volleyball team will begin its fall competitive schedule when it plays in the Long Beach State Tournament this Saturday (Oct. 30).

Joining the Trojans and 49ers in the all-day tourney will be UC Santa Barbara, Stanford, Concordia and Vanguard.

It's the first of 3 fall competitions for Troy.  The Trojans will host the USC Fall Tournament on Nov. 6 and then will participate in the UCLA Fall Tournament on Nov. 12-13.

Fifteen players return from last year's USC roster, including starters at 3 positions and the libero.  Key returnees include setter Chris Hall and libero Cole Paxson, both 3-year starters, and outside hitter Brandon Browning, a 2-year starter.  Among the newcomers are UCLA graduate transfer Sam Kobrine, who likely will play outside hitter.

USC will open its 2022 regular season at the UCSB Asics Invitational on Jan. 6-8.
