Cats Grab Opening Round Wins in Jack Kramer Tournament

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Women's Tennis team wrapped up play at the Jack Kramer tournament with three opening round wins, two in singles and one in doubles.

Freshman Parker Fry earned her eighth singles win of the season in the first round of the tournament against McKenna Koenig of USC before falling to the seventh seed in the second round. Fry also picked up her first doubles win of the season with partner Kayla Wilkins in an opening round victory.

Senior Kayla Wilkins won her first round against Cal State Fullerton before facing the second seed in the tournament in the next round, where her singles road came to an end. Freshman Midori Castillo-Meza was unable to come out of the first round against No. 14 Vanessa Wong, but took her to three sets in an impressive effort from the young player.
