Ducks Open Regular Season on Tuesday

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon will open the 2021-22 season when it hosts Texas Southern at Matthew Knight Arena Tuesday. The No. 13 Ducks will look to build off of a second consecutive Pac-12 title and a birth in the 2021 Sweet Sixteen.

DISTINGUISHED DUCKS
The No. 13 Ducks start the season as one of two Pac-12 programs ranked in the AP top 25 poll.
» It is the eighth time Oregon has been listed in the preseason poll and the 155th overall appearance in the AP top 25.
» The Ducks were picked to finish second in the Pac-12. It's the team's seventh consecutive preseason top four ranking.

Guard Will Richardson was named to the Pac-12 preseason all-conference first team, his second-straight season earning
preseason all-conference honors.
» He is the only player in the conference to be named to each of the last two preseason all-conference teams.
» Richardson is one of 20 players nationwide to be named to the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year watch list.
» He is one of 50 players nationwide to be named to the Naismith Trophy Watch list.
 
RETURNERS
In addition to Richardson, UO returns key contributors in redshirt senior Eric Williams Jr. junior N'Faly Dante and sophomore Franck Kepnang.
» Williams is one of 36 players in program history to record 1,000 career points.
» Dante saw action in six games last season and shot 65.5 percent from the field.
» He holds the Matthew Knight Arena record for FG%, hitting 10-of-10 field goal attempts on Dec. 9, 2020 versus Florida A&M.
» Kepnang shot 67.9 percent from the field last season (19-of-28) and led the team in blocks nine times.
 
ALL-CONFERENCE ADDITIONS
UO added two junior transfers this offseason, forward Quincy Guerrier (Syracuse) and guard De'Vion Harmon (Oklahoma).
Both players were named to the Pac-12 preseason all-conference second team.
» Guerrier helped Syracuse to last year's Sweet Sixteen and was named to the All-ACC third team.
» He is one of 20 players nationwide to be named to the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year watch list.
» Harmon earned Big 12 honorable mention at Oklahoma last year and notched four 20-point games.
» He is one of 20 players nationwide to be named to the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year watch list.
