Cardinal Inks Six

STANFORD, Calif. – ­­Head coach John Kosty and his staff are pleased to announce the signing of six to National Letters of Intent on behalf of the men's volleyball program.
 
"First of all, we are extremely pleased to be back in action after the reinstatement of our men's volleyball program," said Kosty, who is now in his 16th season at the helm of the program. "Like the proverbial Phoenix rising from the ashes, Stanford men's volleyball is experiencing a tremendous rebirth. A significant part of this resurgence is in our current recruitment results for the next class of student-athletes. For the fall of 2022, we have signed six outstanding scholar-athletes that make up one of the top recruiting classes in the nation."

Stanford's incoming class of 2026 consists of Theoren Brouillete (San Jose, Calif.), Ryan DuRoss (Gilroy, Calif.), Luke McFall (Pleasanton, Calif.), Alex Rottman (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Theo Snoey (Berkeley, Calif.) and Moses Wagner (San Jose, Calif.).
 
"Going into this phase where we are able to fully build our program, I can't think of a better start then the signing of this class to National Letters of Intent," added Kosty. "This group fills many of our critical needs for the future and adds to the talent already on our roster."

Kosty on Brouillete: "It's a tribute to his perseverance and talent that Theoren has become such a good setter in such a small amount of time. What we find attractive about this young man is his leadership, competitiveness, team-first mentality, and overall ability to think on the court. He has many of the intangibles to become Stanford's next great setter."

Alex Rottman • 6-6 • OH • Santa Barbara High School • Santa Barbara, Calif.

• Won Southern California section CIF Division 2 and reached semifinals at the state tournament in 2021
• Named Southern Section All-CIF Division 2 (2021)
• Two-time Channel League champions (2020, 2021)
• 2021 All-Channel League First Team
• 2019 JV High School volleyball MVP
• Plays for Santa Barbara Coast Volleyball Club (2016-present), serving as a team captain
• 2021 SoCal National Showcase Event All-Tournament Team
• Younger brother of Stanford junior outside hitter Will Rottman

Kosty on Rottman: "We see Alex making a big impact on Stanford Men's Volleyball once he is entrenched in our program. He enhances our competitive culture and adds significant talent to our outside hitter group. We are already pleased with what his older brother brings to our squad and to have another Rottman makes us that much stronger. We are thrilled that he chose to make Stanford his home."

Kosty on Snoey: "We have been excited about Theo since he first came to a summer camp four years ago. To imagine that he would eventually sign with us after being pursued by so many schools is a dream come true. Like our other recruits, Theo is very academically gifted but he has grand visions of where volleyball will take him. He is a natural fit to Stanford and will be a tremendous representative of our athletic department and our volleyball program."
 

Moses Wagner • 6-5 • OPP • Bellarmine College Prep • San Jose, Calif.

• Won the CIF-CCS Division 1 Championship for the Bellarmine Varsity volleyball team (2021)
