Nov 10, 2021

Mahanth Chirravuri from Chandler, Ariz., a prep All-American and one of the top juniors in the country, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the USC men's golf team, Trojan Coach J.T. Higgins announced Wednesday (Nov. 10).

"We are so excited to welcome Mahanth to the Trojan Family," Higgins said. "He is one of the best players in the country and will make an immediate impact on our team. He is a complete player but he truly excels with his iron and wedge play and short game.

"On top of his outstanding skills on the course, Mahanth has been part of an amazing team at Hamilton High in Arizona, helping Coach Steve Kanner win three consecutive state championships. His work ethic, commitment and dedication to the team are going to play a huge role in the future success of Trojan Golf."

Chirravuri is among the top-ranked recruits in the country, reaching No. 11 in the Rolex/AJGA rankings and No. 1 in Arizona.

A 2020 Rolex/AJGA All-American honorable mention selection, he won the Arizona state title in 2020 at 10-under and has helped his school to state team titles in 2019, 2020 and 2021, the most recent coming last week when he finished third individually.

Chirravuri was a member of the 2020 Wyndham Cup, playing for the West squad. He teamed with current Trojan freshman Gavin Aurilia in leading a junior squad of Arizona golfers win the 50th Hogan Cup in 2018.

He boasts seven top 5 finishes in AJGA events, including a trio of runner-up efforts at the PING Heather Farr Classic, the AJGA Junior at Superstition and the AJGA Longbow. He also has 10 wins on the Junior Golf Association of Arizona Tour.
