Cougar Tennis Adds Two for 2022 Spring Season

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University Head Tennis Coach Raquel Atawo announced Thursday that Stefaniia Mikhailova and Elyse Tse have signed Financial Aid Agreements and will join the Cougar Tennis program in January 2022.
 
"We are very excited to welcome Stefaniia and Elyse to our Cougar family," said Atawo. "As a first-year head coach, they are my very first recruits and I couldn't be more excited about their potential to grow and learn with the structure and professionalism that we provide. They both have the results to show their ability to develop, as well as the talent to succeed. They will add depth and a competitive spirit to our team!"
 
Mikhailova arrives in Pullman from Krasnodar, Russia, where she was a top junior. Her highest ranking in Russia was No. 137 and she also captured three tournament victories in Krasnodar.
 
Tse, from Auckland, New Zealand, is currently ranked as the No. 2 junior in New Zealand. She has captured six national titles, including the U16 Singles and U18 Doubles Championships. IN the past year she has captured three ITF Junior doubles titles and was a singles finalist in three other Junior ITF events.
