Ducks Sign Two International Players

EUGENE, Ore. – A pair of international golfers, Daniel Bullen of Scotland and Jay Gould-Healy of Singapore, have signed a National Letter of Intent with the Ducks, head coach Casey Martin announced on Thursday.
 
The up-and-coming golfers saw their stock rise after winning tournament during the summer of 2021.
 
"Both these players have a chance to step in and play immediately," said Martin. "I can't wait to get them on campus and begin working with them."
 
Daniel Bullen, ?Auchterarder, Scotland
Currently the 21st-ranked junior golfer in Europe by European Golf Rankings … Selected to play for Great Britain & Ireland against the Continent of Europe in the 2021 Jacques Léglise Trophy … Chosen to play for Scotland in the 2021 Home Internationals … Shot a junior low-round of 66 in winning the 2021 Pollock Junior Masters (7-under, 71-66-69-206) … Medalist honors at the Faldo Series North East Championship (72-77-72-221) … Semifinalist in the 2021 R&A British Boys Amateur Championship … Tied for fourth at the English Boys U18 Amateur Championship (3-under, 67-67-70-73-277) … Qualified for the 2021 Scottish Men's Open Championship.
 
Martin on Bullen: "Daniel had an amazing summer once things got going again. He proved to be one of the best young players in Europe this summer. We are thrilled he chose Oregon as he had a lots of schools after him."
 
Jay Gould-Healy, ?Singapore
Gould-Healy is currently enrolled at United World College of South East Asia in Singapore, but has roots that trace back to both California and Ireland … Won the 2021 San Jose City Championship (68-71-139) … Claimed the 2020 Singapore Junior Masters tournament in December, shooting a 68 in the final round … Also won the Mountain View City junior championship and the Baylands junior championship in 2020 … Became the youngest person to win the Sentosa Presidents Cup at age 15 in 2019 … Shot a low round of 66 at the 2019 South East Asian Schools Championship … Off the course, volunteers with A Light 4 Sri Lanka, helping raise funds and awareness for charitable causes in Sri Lanka.
 
Martin on Gould-Healy: "Jay is a strong player with tremendous upside. He has a great golf swing and a wonderful work ethic. He pounds the ball and has a chance to become an elite player. Jay really wanted to be a Duck and we were excited to make that happen."
