Oregon Lacrosse Inks Eight Newcomers

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon lacrosse coach Chelsea Hoffmann announced the additions of eight newcomers for their 2022-23 season.
 
"We are excited to welcome these talented student-athletes into our Duck Lacrosse Family," said Hoffmann. "Our staff worked hard to add athletic, skilled and determined players who will help build on our strong culture and drive us toward our program goals."
 
The new Ducks will come to Eugene from five states: California, Colorado, New Hampshire, New York and Washington. Several earned All-League or All-American honors during their 2021 seasons despite playing abbreviated seasons or no games at all in 2020.
 
Natalie Coutu
Attack | Brookline. N.H. | Bishop Guertin HS

  • Led Bishop Guertin High School to back-to-back state championships in 2019 and 2021
  • Earned back-to-back WPPL Futures National Tournament selections in 2019 and 2020
  • Named to the 2019 Under Armor New England Command Team

 
Sydney Hoggard
Midfield | Huntington Beach, Calif. | Edison HS

  • Led Edison High School in goals, draw controls, ground balls and caused turnovers as a junior
  • Earned First Team All-Sunset League recognition as a junior
  • Awarded the Congressional Award Gold Medal for her academics

 
Jadyn Laing
Midfield | El Dorado Hills, Calif. | Oak Ridge HS

  • Named to the SLVC All-Star team after scoring 25 goals as a junior
  • Earned 2021 USA Lacrosse Magazine Academic All-American honors
  • Selected to the All-Star team at the 2021 NXT Showcase

 
Grace Lichtenberger
Defense | Colorado Springs, Colo. | Discovery Canyon Campus HS

  • Named First Team All-State in 2021 after scoring 28 goals with 12 assists
  • Led her high school team to the state playoffs three times
  • Two-time Under Armor All-American in 2018 and 2019

 
Rachel Pallo
Midfield | Littleton, Colo. | Valor Christian HS

  • Led Valor Christian High School to the 2021 state championship
  • Picked up 80 ground balls in her first two seasons at Valor Christian
  • Member of the National Honor Society at her high school

 
Anna Simmons
Midfield | North Bend, Wash. | Mount Si HS

  • Scored 38 goals, picked up 30 ground balls and secured 50 draws as a junior
  • Selected for the all-star team at the 2021 Vail Lacrosse Shootout
  • Named to the Mount Si honor roll all four years of high school

 
Ava Sperling
Defense | Saratoga Springs, N.Y. | Albany Academy for Girls

  • Led Albany Academy to a 7-2 league record during the 2021 season
  • As a defender, helped her team hold opponents to single-digit goals six times
  • Named to the AAG Honor Roll during every year of high school

 
Jenae Sperling
Midfield | Mission Viejo, Calif. | Mission Viejo HS

  • Named the 2021 Sea View League Most Valuable Player after scoring 66 goals with 20 assists as a junior
  • Selected for the 2021 Under Armor All-American Team (West Region)
  • Led her club team, SoCal Express Elite, to first place at the IWLCA Champions Cup
