USC Men's Basketball's Isaiah Mobley Named To Naismith Trophy & Wooden Award Watch Lists

USC junior forward Isaiah Mobley was added to two more preseason watch lists this week being named to the Naismith Trophy watch list on Nov. 8 and the John R. Wooden Award list for Most Outstanding Player on Nov. 9.

Mobley was named to the Preseason Top 50 John R. Wooden Award® watch list presented by Wendy's® during a special show on ESPN.  Chosen by a preseason poll of national college basketball experts, the list is comprised of 50 student-athletes who are the early front-runners for one of the most prestigious honors in college basketball, the Wooden Award All American Team™ and Most Outstanding Player Award.

He was also named to the 50-man Naismith Trophy preseason watch list awarded to the nation's Division I College Player of the Year.  There are 34 different school represented on this year's watch list.  The winner receives the iconic Naismith Trophy, originally sculpted in 1982 by Atlanta's Marty C. Dawe.

Mobley averaged 9.9 points and 7.3 rebounds in 32 stats for the Trojans during the 2020-21 season and was a key member of USC's run to the NCAA Elite Eight.  In USC's four NCAA Tournament games, the power forward averaged 16.0 points and 5.3 rebounds, while making 61.0 percent of his shots (25-for-41).  Including USC's two Pac-12 Tournament games, Mobley made 66.7 percent of his shots from three-point range (10-for-15) during the Trojans' six postseason games.  Mobley was third on the Trojan team in scoring and second in rebounding during the 2020-21 season.  Mobley's 233 rebounds ranked third in the Pac-12 and his six double-doubles were tied for third among conference players.  Mobley had 21 games with at least six rebounds and 10 games with double figures in rebounds.

Mobley opened the 2021-22 season with 15 points and 9 rebounds in the Trojans' 89-49 win over CSUN on Nov. 9.
