Petchey Advances to Singles Final at SDSU Classic

SAN DIEGO – Myah Petchey earned a hard-fought win in three sets in her semifinal match Saturday at the San Diego State Fall Classic to advance to the championship match of the Black Draw.   
 
How it Happened: Petchey advanced to Sunday's final in the Black Draw in singles play with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 win. She dropped her opening set, but battled back to pull out a tight second set to force a third. Petchey dominated the deciding set, making quick work of San Diego State's Nnena Nadozie in a 6-0 frame.
 
Sophie Luescher fell in her singles semifinal match in the Gold Draw, 6-4, 6-0, while Madisen Olsen lost her consolation singles match, 6-3, 6-3. Luescher and Petchey also dropped their consolation doubles match, 6-4.
 
Luescher and Olsen will play consolation singles matches on Sunday, while Petchey and Luescher will also compete in a back-draw doubles match.
