Nov 15, 2021

BOULDER – Colorado women's tennis signed Carrington Hayes to a National Letter of Intent, announced by head Coach Anthony Pham Monday.

"We are very excited to welcome Carri to the Buff tennis family," said Pham. "Carri possesses strong character and a fantastic work ethic. She has already accomplished a fair bit in her junior career but we really feel like her game still has so much more room to grow. Carri comes from a great family and we are confident that she will excel as a Buff on the court, in the classroom and be a great representative in the community."

Hayes is a 5-4 incoming freshman out of Boca Raton, Florida. She was recognized as top-10 recruit in the southeast region per tennis recruiting and was awarded the "most competitive award" by the Evert Tennis Academy. She is currently rated as a five-star recruit and has ranked as high as 11th in the nation.

Her favorite moment of her high school career came in April, 2019 when she was the singles finalist at an ITF grade four junior tennis tournament in Barbados.

Hayes intends to study communications and specifically media studies at CU. She enjoys music, movies, and photography in her free time,

Hayes was recruited by Arizona, Oregon, Florida State, and Vanderbilt, choosing to become a Buff due to her love for the campus and coaching staff.
