Orange & Black Gymnastics Exhibition Set for Friday

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State gymnastics fans have their first opportunity to watch the 2021-22 team in action at the Orange and Black Exhibition on Friday at 7 p.m.

Admission is free but fans are required to abide by the Oregon State policy that requires attendees to provide proof of vaccination or show proof of a negative COVID test within the prior three days of the event.
 
The format, as in years past, will feature two squads – Team Orange and Team Black – with gymnasts competing head-to-head on each event. After each pairing, guest judges will determine the winner and points will be awarded accordingly.
 
The panel of guest judges at each event will include media members that regularly cover Oregon State Athletics, OSU coaches, former Beaver gymnasts and other Oregon State student-athletes. The exhibition will be emceed and will include interaction with the judges between exhibitions.
 
The gymnastics team officially opens its season on Jan. 8, when the Beavers travel to Anaheim, Calif. for the 2022 Collegiate Challenge, hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist Amanda Borden. The only podium competition on the west coast features six top gymnastics programs and league competitors including Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Oregon State, UCLA and Washington.

OSU begins its home slate by hosting Boise State, San Jose State and conference foe Washington in a four-team non-conference meet on Saturday, Jan. 15 before welcoming Pac-12 rival UCLA for a televised showdown inside Gill Coliseum on Sunday, Jan. 23.

Also, on the home docket are televised conference meets with Arizona State (Feb. 5) and the final home meet against Stanford (Feb. 25). On Feb. 13, the Washington Huskies come to Corvallis with the meet being streamed on Oregon State's Live Stream.

The 2022 Oregon State gymnastics team features thirteen returning letterwinners with seasoned veterans - Madi DagenKayla Bird, and Kaitlyn Yanish – amongst them that will lead the squad this winter.
 
In addition, the Beavers welcome nine new faces that look to make a big impact during the 2022 campaign – led by Olympic Gold Medalist Jade Carey. Season tickets for the 2022 Oregon State gymnastics season are available for purchase via BeaverTickets.com/Gymnastics and 1-800-GO-BEAVS. Single meet tickets for the 2022 campaign will go on sale Monday, Nov. 29 at 9 a.m.
